Lady Corbett’s Professional Women’s Network recently organised a gourmet meal at The Clink restaurant, situated within the walls of Brixton Prison.
The restaurant is staffed by offenders working towards City & Guilds NVQs in food preparation, food service and customer service, leading to employment in the UK hospitality industry. Proving that schemes like this work: the national re-offending rate is 54%. The Clink re-offending rate is under 10%.
This charity works with the Robin Corbett Award for Prisoner Re-integration and our partners in the Corbett Network to encourage more employers to employ people with convictions, giving them a chance to change their lives.
Some comments from guests: “It really brings home the importance of these programmes”; “Delicious food, worthy of a 5 star rating”; “Excellent service”; “Impressed to find how much after-care the project does.”
